WHY THE SLOT MACHINES NEAR TABLE GAMES ARE AMONG THE WORST SLOT MACHINES TO PLAY IN A CASINO
Many of my regular readers have noticed that I have pointed out in the past that the slot machines that are right near table games are among the worst to play in a casino. One recently asked me to expand upon why this is. When talking about why the slot machines near the table games are among the worst slot to play in a casino, we have to look at what kind of distractions can come up from a person playing the slots. First off, as we all know, the slot machines are very loud. In fact, the first sound that you are usually going to hear when you walk into a casino would be those that come from slot machines. Among these sounds would be the spinner sounds, the clinking of coins (even with the paper alternative, most casinos still have their slot machines programmed for the coin sounds), and the sounds of people jumping up and down and sirens going off to indicate a big winner.
If a person is sitting at a table game, chances are good that he or she is trying to concentrate on the cards, and on strategy. Hearing someone screaming about a win on the slots will usually cause more than one table game player to take a mind off the cards to see what is going on. Many table game players in a casino would love to do away with this kind of distraction. This leads us to a clue as to why the slot machines by the table games are among the worst to play.
Over the years, many of the casinos have tried different methods to separate the card players and other table game players from as much of the slot machine sounds as possible. Some casinos tried raising or lowering the table pits in an attempt to deter some of the sounds. Some have placed the pits under modified domes to deflect the sounds. If you notice, around the table games is usually a little quieter than the rest of the casino.
The great idea came many years ago to make the slot machines a little tighter around the table games. This could help reduce some of the racket so that the table game players to concentrate more on the game. Since this worked, casinos have gradually made these slot machines tighter and tighter over the years until they became listed among the worst slot machines to play in a casino.
This might lead some of you to wonder why table games have not been completely taken out of the general casino. You might point out the fact that the poker rooms and sports betting locations are usually fairly removed from all of the hustle and bustle. Removal of the table games from the general gaming floor would cause more issues in the fact that the casino would not be able to showcase these games as well.
The next time that you are in a casino, remember that the slot machines near the table games are among the worst to play in the entire casino. If you are able to avoid these machines, do so by all means. By doing so, you increase your chances of hitting a bigger jackpot, and benefiting in the short-run. Granted, the slot machines will still take your money in the long-run, but it is still nice to keep some in the short-run.
